"GOLDEN MERCURY" OF YURY DIDENKO

A crab holding a pennon. This trademark is world-wide known. Delicious canned crab meat, fish and other sea products for many years have been very popular all over the world. The producer, joint-stock company "Dalmoreproduct" firmly keeps on its legs despite of all difficulties of "transitional period". This company can show an example of wise and honest work.
Ten years ago the company was very weak, it was nearly dead. At that time Uri Didenko was appointed Director. And from that moment fast recovery started. Today Uriy Didenko is the President of a big holding company "Dalmoreproduct". Last year "Dalmoreproduct" was given a prestigious international award, "Birmingham Torch". It was awarded to the company for great economic achievements and development under difficult economic situation in Russia in the period of transition to the "market". The award was personally presented by the President of the USA, Mr. Bill Clinton. This year the international prize "Golden Mercury", which is annually awarded to the best exporters of home industrial products, has been handed over to Uri Didenko and to some other Russian businessmen .
Already In 1992 "Dalmoreproduct" started to work in France, together with the well-known company "Petrosyan", which for many years had been promoting Russian products, in particular Far Eastern salmon caviare and canned salmon and crab meat. In 1993 the decision was taken to start working independently. "Dalmoreproduct" bought one of "Petrosyan's" divisions, "Sadko" company. Now "Dalmoreproduct" is always aware of the European export prices, it has a direct contact with European customers and, a very important thing, it gets invaluable experience of international business. A vast network of joint ventures working in Europe, Korea, the United States and in Japan makes "Dalmoreproduct" stronger. Traditionally the main part of export goes to the Far East. In cooperation with Japanese companies modernization of technical equipment of the vessels was carried out on a large scale. That resulted in new products such as frozen Pollock roe (in sacks) and "surimi" (specially prepared minced fish) very popular in Japan.
"Sadko" company represents interests of "Dalmoreproduct" in Japan. It is worth mentioning that in the time of the Soviet Union export operations were carried out only by some special export divisions, the producer could only dream of that. Now situation is favourable, the producer can work directly with the customers at the international market.
Delicious canned crab meat and salmon produced by «Dalmoreproduct» with the brand name "Chatka", "Kamchatka" and "Socra" long ago became a standard of quality at the European market. Customers in France do not ask for "canned crab meat", they ask for "Chatka" or "Kamchatka". This is a great achievement of the Far Eastern company, and it is to be developed. Currently the company started to deliver to the European market fresh frozen products, such as "surimi", Alaska Pollock fillets and other.
