The Northern Pacific magazine was given a title “The Best Ecological Magazine” on The Fifth All-Russian Competition “Ecology of Russia—2000”. The interview with editor-in-chief of the magazine Sergey Vakhrin about this event opens the issue.

The First All-Russian Film Festival “Water of Life” was held from the 10th till 15th of September in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Journalist of telecompany “Veles” Tamara Savelyeva (Khabarovsk, Russia) writes about her impressions in the material “Strokes to the Future Portrait”.
